Major Findings of the Survey
8.1 Number of Establishments
According to the survey results, a total of 142,223 establishments providing accommodation and food services were in operation during the reference period.
8.2 Number of Persons Engaged
The number of persons engaged in accommodation and food service establishments includes actively working proprietors and partners, unpaid family members, and paid employees. The survey shows that a total of 387,747 persons were engaged in these establishments during the reference period.
8.3 Number of Employees
Employees refer to workers and staff who receive regular salaries or wages from accommodation and food service establishments. According to the survey, the total number of employees working in these establishments was 106,459.
8.4 Salaries, Wages, and Benefits
Salaries, wages, and benefits refer to the total expenditure incurred by accommodation and food service establishments on paid employees during the reference period, including cash payments, payments in kind, and other employee benefits. The survey indicates that these establishments spent approximately NPR 20.62 billion on salaries, wages, and benefits for their employees.
8.5 Value of Input, Output, and Value Added
During the reference period, accommodation and food service establishments incurred input costs amounting to approximately NPR 216.74 billion and produced services valued at approximately NPR 326.01 billion. As a result, these establishments generated an estimated value added of NPR 109.27 billion, contributing significantly to the national economy.
8.6 Value of Fixed Assets
By the end of the reference period, accommodation and food service establishments possessed fixed assets valued at approximately NPR 543.26 billion.
8.7 Status of Loans
The survey found that approximately 28.4 percent of accommodation and food service establishments had obtained loans from financial institutions, while 71.6 percent had not taken any loans as of the reference period. |
