        This report presents the results of the Nepal Distributive Trade Survey, 2022, conducted by the National Statistics Office to measure the economic indicators of the wholesale and retail trade sector in Nepal. The survey covers all types of trade activities, including motor trade and repair, wholesale trade, and retail trade. The survey provides data on the proportion of registered establishments, persons engaged, compensation of employees, operating costs, trade margins, other income, gross fixed capital formation, and changes in inventories. The survey also provides disaggregated data by province and by Central Product Classification (CPC). The report highlights the significant role of the trade sector in the national economy, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by the trade establishments. The report also discusses the methodology, limitations, and recommendations of the survey. The report is intended to serve as a useful reference for the government, private sector, academia, media, and the general public.

          <![CDATA[The survey was designed to provide NSIC 3 digits estimates in national and provincial level. Trade establishments is categorized into four groups based on the number of persons engaged in 
establishments. The survey method employed in this study follows a mixed approach. the establishments which have the number of persons engaged greater than or equal to 10 and less 
frequent in each province are completely enumerated whereas sampling method is used for other establishments.]]>

          <![CDATA[Altogether, two training programs were conducted. Out of which, one for statisticsl Officer of District statistics office throung online Zoom method and one for enumerators in physcial.
The data collection of the distributive trade survey was done by enumerators who are hired from open vacancy conducted by National Statistics Office. Direct interview method was used for data collection and 107 enumerators were involved for this purpose.]]>

This proactive approach aimed to minimize errors and ensure the accuracy of the collected data.Furthermore, 33 supervisors, all of whom were Statistical Officers from the Statistics Offices, were involved in overseeing the process.]]>

          <![CDATA[The frmae of this  survey is trade estaglishments of-  National Economic Cenus, 2018 (NEC, 2018).  Each trade establishment  of NEC, 2018 are give a 5 digit number in according to number given to name of province, 3 digit main NSIC and employment category. Similary, the each sample of Nepal Distributive Trade Survey, 2022 are also given 5 digit number. Then for the each sample of the survey the weight is equal to total  number of establishment associated with that  5 digit group in census divided by total  number of establishment in that 5 digit group in survey. After the data were received, the non response were adjusted to give new sample weight.]]>
